Brody
Eugene Tucker, son of Gary and Melissa Tucker, was born
on April
25, 2007 at WMMC in Warrensburg at 34 weeks gestation.
When he was a week old,an ER doctor diagnosed him as dehydrated
and he was admitted back into WMMC and subsequently transported
to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. He spent
3 1/2 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before
being discharged.
A
month later he was hospitalized again when new complications
arose. Brody was diagnosed with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy,
AKA hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He needed a Heart Transplant!
He was then transported to Children's Hospital in St.
Louis for treatment until a heart could be found.
On
the evening and morning of July 31-August 1, Brody received
his new heart, grafted in by cardiologist and surgeon,
Dr Simon Ghandi. He is slowly making the upwards climb
to "healthy" again!
